Who am I?
Isn’t that the question most of us strive to understand on a daily basis? Yet, I suppose I can figure out some of the basics to give you a rough idea of who I am.
My name is Cassie and I am a 30 year old stay-at-home mom of 2 beautiful girls. I have been married for 11 years to my best friend, whom I have shared countless adventures with as we moved over and over again during our college years. I consider myself a Christian and I strive to understand what that really means.
I was born in Idaho, but I grew up mainly in Montana and that’s where I tend to call home. We currently reside in SoCal, which has been an interesting adjustment, but my hubby likes his job here and is very appreciative that he has one in this economy.
I received my B.S. in Geology from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and my hubby received his B.S. in Wildlife Biology, so we kind of like to do outdoorsy things. I seriously have an obsession with Backpacker magazine and look forward when we can start doing more hiking again. My hubby is what I would call a “bird nerd”, but he has gotten better about pointing out birds while driving now that we have “precious cargo”….yes…I have wondered why I wasn’t considered “precious cargo”, but understand now that it just is different with children.
It’s difficult to think of myself as a blogger….not really a label I feel fits me. I honestly blog out of necessity more than I do out of enjoyment. I started my blog Preserving a Sense of Wonder to help hold myself accountable to actively interact with my children. I think when you stay at home, it is easy to become stagnant, but that would defeat the purpose of why we chose for me to stay at home in the first place. Since my blog is very topic-specific, I have been blessed to be able to write about random things that interest me on inRandom, like cloth diapering, that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to.
